A family is worried. An overdose occurs. A student gets caught vaping. They were two of the three most frequently selected health concerns.<\/p>\n<p>These aren&#8217;t simply statistics. They represent concerns being expressed by people living in our community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-2 fusion-flex-container has-pattern-background has-mask-background nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--link_color: nicotine.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s nicotine landscape includes e-cigarettes, vapes, nicotine pouches and other products that can look very different from traditional cigarettes.<\/p>\n<p>Hope Council works locally with schools, public health and community partners on youth vaping prevention, intervention and cessation. Parents can also explore Hope Council&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopecouncil.org\/es\/recursos\/jovenes-y-adolescentes\/\">Youth &amp; Teens resources<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopecouncil.org\/es\/recursos\/jovenes-y-adolescentes\/vaporizar-nicotina\/\">Vaping &amp; Nicotine resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hope Council also coordinates the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopecouncil.org\/es\/programas-y-servicios\/promocion-de-la-prevencion\/coalicion-krw-contra-el-tabaco\/\">Kenosha, Racine and Walworth Tobacco-Free Coalition.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2025, the coalition conducted 332 tobacco retailer compliance checks across Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties, with a 4% youth sales rate. That three-county figure demonstrates why continued retailer education and accountability remain components of prevention.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth supply.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenoshacountywi.gov\/2109\/Fentanyl-Can-Kill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenosha County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office<\/a>, 34 overdose deaths occurred in Kenosha County in 2024, including 12 involving fentanyl and\/or a fentanyl analog.<\/p>\n<p>Kenosha County also reports that local law enforcement has seized and tested counterfeit pills, many of which tested positive for fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p>These numbers are an important reminder that overdose prevention belongs alongside substance use employers, coaches and other community members can potentially save a life simply by knowing how to recognize an overdose and respond.<\/p>\n<p>Hope Council&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopecouncil.org\/es\/recursos\/prevencion-de-sobredosis\/\">Overdose Prevention resources<\/a> provide information about recognizing an opioid overdose, administering naloxone and
