Virtual Recovery Meetings

Recovery meetings you can join from anywhere — no drive, no childcare, no waiting for the right night of the week. These are the national meeting finders and apps we point people to most often.

Find a meeting

Where to Find an Online Meeting

Each fellowship keeps its own virtual schedule. These directories are searchable by day, time, and format, and most run meetings 24 hours a day.

AA Virtual (Online Intergroup of AA)

Searchable directory of online AA meetings running around the clock — video, phone, chat, and email formats, including meetings for specific groups and languages.

NA Virtual Meeting Search

Narcotics Anonymous virtual meeting search, filterable by day, time, and format. Meetings are hosted by NA groups worldwide.

SMART Recovery Online

Peer-led meetings focused on practical tools for handling cravings, triggers, and the thinking that keeps people stuck. No steps, no sponsor, no higher power required. Separate meetings for family and friends.

Refuge Recovery Online

Meetings built around meditation and mindfulness practice as the path out of addiction. Open to anyone regardless of belief; no religious requirement. Filter the list to online to see the virtual schedule.

Use the App

AA and NA both maintain free apps that find in-person and virtual meetings near you and keep the schedule current.

Common Questions

Do I have to turn my camera on or say my name?2026-07-29T13:41:41-05:00

No. Most online meetings let you join with your camera off and a first name only, and you can listen without speaking. If a meeting’s format matters to you, read its listing before joining — many note whether they are video, audio-only, or chat.

Is a virtual meeting as good as an in-person one?2026-07-29T13:34:53-05:00

It is a different experience, not a lesser one. Virtual meetings remove the barriers that stop people most often — transportation, childcare, work schedules, and the size of a small town. Many people use both.

Which of these should I try first?2026-07-29T13:35:51-05:00

If you are not sure, start with whichever fellowship’s language fits you. AA and NA follow a 12-step approach; SMART Recovery uses cognitive and behavioral tools without steps or a higher power; Refuge Recovery is mindfulness-based. You are allowed to try several and keep what works. Call 262-658-8166 if you’d like help sorting through it.

These meetings and apps are operated by independent fellowships and organizations. Hope Council does not host, moderate, or endorse them, and inclusion here is not a recommendation of any one program over another.
