Peer Support

Real connection. Real understanding. Real support. Hope Council’s Certified Peer Specialists bring lived experience — understanding, encouragement, and real-world guidance from people who have been there. Services are available at no cost to anyone seeking support for substance use or mental health concerns, in any stage of readiness.

Why peer support works

Improved outcomes

Strong social support is one of the most important factors in sustained recovery and overall well-being.

Lasting connection

Support doesn’t end after one conversation — it grows into trusted relationships you can rely on.

What peer support includes

Recovery Coaching

One-on-one support pairing you with a Certified Peer Support Specialist who helps remove barriers and provides resources as you rebuild your life. Beyond a supportive hand and an empathetic ear, recovery coaching follows a formalized approach built around your unique needs, circumstances, and goals.

Case Management

A partnership to assess your circumstances, create a plan of action, and coordinate care to meet your wellness needs — promoting your safety and making sure you receive a high quality of care.

Telephone Recovery Support (TRS)

Weekly phone touchpoints with a member of the Peer Specialist team — checking in on how you’re doing and sharing community resources, recovery pathways, and support for whatever challenges the week brought.

Naloxone Training

Kits, education, and training on how to prevent, recognize, and respond to an opioid overdose — for individuals at risk, family members, friends, loved ones, and professionals.

This is for you
People seeking support for substance use or mental health concerns. People in any stage of recovery. People who are not sure where to start. People supporting someone else. The path of recovery is different for everyone — peer support meets you on yours, without judgment and without a price tag.
