Risk Reduction

No judgment. No questions. Just the supplies you need to stay healthier. Hope Council provides no-cost naloxone, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, safe disposal kits, and safer-use supplies — many available 24/7 through the Public Health Vending Machine and all available at the front desk during business hours. Staying alive and staying healthier come first. Everything else can come later, if and when you want it.

How to get supplies

Public Health Vending Machine

24/7, 365 days a year, outside the Hope Council office — no-cost naloxone, fentanyl, and xylazine test strips, safe disposal kits, COVID-19 test kits, condoms, emergency contraception, and more. No appointment. No questions. No judgment.

Safer-Use Support & Supplies

Syringe service supplies and risk-reduction items from the front desk during business hours, for anyone 18 and older. Every kit includes community resource and service information — there if you want it, no pressure if you don’t.

Supplies that keep people healthier

Naloxone

The opioid overdose reversal medication — no-cost, with training available for individuals, families, and groups who want to know how to use it.

Fentanyl and xylazine test strips

Know what is actually in a substance before it is used. Test strips detect fentanyl and xylazine — two of the most dangerous contaminants in the local supply.

Safe disposal kits

Get unused medications and supplies out of homes safely — one of the simplest ways to prevent harm before it starts.

Sexual and reproductive health supplies

Judgment-free access to emergency contraception (morning-after pill), monthly birth control pills, external and internal condom kits, lubricant, pregnancy tests, and more.

The honest case for risk reduction

Recovery is only possible for people who survive. Risk reduction is not approval and not surrender — it is the evidence-based recognition that people who use substances deserve to stay alive and as healthy as possible, whether or not they are ready for anything else. Every kit handed across the front desk and every dose stocked in the vending machine carries the same message: when you want more than supplies, we’re here for that too.

Support, only if you want it

Staff can connect you to peer support, treatment options, or local providers whenever you ask — and will never make supplies conditional on asking.
