The right-now answer. A breathalyzer shows alcohol use within hours — the quickest, lowest-cost test available. By appointment, $25, done in minutes, no judgment.

Breathalyzer at a glance

What it shows

Alcohol use within hours of the test — a same-moment answer for a same-day question.

What it costs

$25. The lowest-cost test offered. Payment in full before testing — cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards accepted.

How to schedule

By appointment only. Call 262-658-8166, and staff will confirm timing — with this test, timing is everything.

If plans change

Call ahead — rescheduling with notice costs nothing. There is a $25 fee for no-shows, and refund requests carry a $25 processing fee.

Straight answers about what it proves

It can show

Recent alcohol use, within hours — useful for same-day verification when a requirement asks, “right now?”

It cannot show

Anything past those hours. Patterns over weeks or months are a different question — that’s what direct biomarker testing (PEth, EtG) is for.

And as always

Hope Council conducts testing and reports results — no medical or legal interpretation, and nothing about a result changes how you are treated here. Results go only to you and to anyone you authorize through a signed Release of Information.

Common Questions

How fast is it?2026-07-08T16:41:39-05:00

The test itself takes minutes, and it reads alcohol use within hours of the test. Because the window is short, scheduling timing matters — call 262-658-8166 and staff will sort it with you.

Is a breathalyzer enough for my requirement?2026-07-08T16:41:58-05:00

If the requirement asks about right now, usually yes. If it asks about a pattern — the past weeks or months — ask about PEth or EtG biomarker testing instead. Describe the requirement when you call, and staff will point you to the right test.

What does it cost?2026-07-08T16:42:29-05:00

$25, paid in full before testing. There is a $25 fee for no-shows; rescheduling with notice costs nothing.
