Request a Speaker

Bring honest, evidence-based education to your people — your classroom, your team, your congregation, your organization. Hope Council staff speak and train on substance use prevention, overdose response, stigma, and more, matched to your audience and setting. Speaker fees are based on ability to pay, several trainings are free outright, and the only bad request is the one you didn’t send.

If you have an audience, you qualify

Schools and parent groups. Employers and HR teams. Civic groups and community centers. Health care and social service organizations. Faith communities. Coalitions and public agencies. Audiences of ten or two hundred, one session or a series — describe what you have, and staff will match the programming.

What we speak and train on

  • Substance use prevention — youth and adult audiences, product-agnostic and current.
  • Youth vaping and nicotine — including school programming delivered with local partners.
  • Naloxone and overdose prevention — free training that makes your people the ones who know what to do.
  • Mental Health First Aid — the free, certified one-day course (see the MHFA page for public session dates).
  • Stigma and language — practical training for workplaces, schools, healthcare, and media.
  • Supporting loved ones and family education.
  • Workplace substance use — policy, response, and support pathways for employers.
  • Safe medication disposal and risk reduction.
  • Something else? Ask — staff expertise covers prevention, intervention, and referral across alcohol and other substances.
What it costs

Speaker fees are based on ability to pay — tell us your situation and we will make it work, because cost should never be the reason a community goes without education. Mental Health First Aid training and naloxone training are free outright, grant-funded so that the people who need them most can have them.

After you submit

1

Request reviewed

Staff review the topic, date, audience, and fit during business hours.

2

Follow-up conversation

Staff reach out to shape the details — format, depth, timing, and fee if one applies.

3

Everything confirmed

Date, topic, audience, accessibility needs, and logistics — locked in before the event, no surprises on the day.

4

Your people leave knowing more

That’s the point. And if it goes well, the next request is even easier: you’ll know exactly who to ask for.

Common Questions

How far in advance should we request?2026-07-13T19:52:12-05:00

Earlier is better — popular months fill, and good programming benefits from planning time. But ask regardless of timeline; staff will tell you what’s possible.

What does a speaker cost?2026-07-13T19:52:29-05:00

Fees are based on ability to pay — discussed openly in the follow-up conversation, never sprung later. MHFA and naloxone training are free.

Can you tailor the content to our group?2026-07-13T20:36:08-05:00

Yes — that’s the default, not an upgrade. Audience, depth, format, and length are all matched to your request.

Can we request a recurring series or staff training?2026-07-13T20:36:22-05:00

Yes. One-time presentations, multi-session series, staff trainings, and parent nights are all on the table — describe what you’re imagining.
